We work with the best local specialists, providing unpretentious experiences out of the trodden paths. In private. English or german speaking guides.

 Horse rides

 

Alentejo is the homeland of the Lusitanian horse. 

 

Villa Extramuros can book for you horseback rides in the countryside, horseriding or dressage lessons ,with English-speaking professionals.

The high-end horse farms we work with are located only 10 to 15 minutes from the Villa,  in the middle of the nature. 

  

From 75 euros per person (base 2 people) the session of 1h30/2h.

 

 

 

 Wine tours & Wine tasting

 

Our village Arraiolos is situated just on the Road of Alentejo Wines , and there are numerous wineries ( « Adegas » ) open for wine tours and wine tasting sessions., in the surroundings of our Villa and on the way to Evora or Estremoz.

For a visit in English, anticipated booking is recommended. 

 

Some wineries also have a restaurant .

 

Ask us about wine tours and tastings ( guided or not ) and we will be happy to recommend our preferred ones. And make the necessary bookings.

 

 

 

 Water sports

 

From April, in Spring and early Summer, it is the best period to discover another unexpected side of the Alentejo : river water sports or boat trips. 

 

Wild rivers make possible canyoning, canoeing, raft, hidrospeed, hike & swim, down river rafting ..

Our partner is a confirmed specialist of water sports training sessions, situated half hour from the Villa.  

Consult us for the agenda of activities. Also for children aged 8 and more.

 

Booking is mandatory.

 

And there is also a very big lake , the Alqueva, near the Spanish border , at around 1 hour from the Villa.

Boat trips and sailing tours are available on the lake, at the nautic base of Monsaraz.
